Fashion from the SAG's award's 2016

Since it is red carpet season again, I wanted to share with you the best dresses worn on Saturday's star studded ceremony by some of the most stylish Hollywood actresses in the business right now. The SAG's fashion was extremely surprising and a little disappointing in some cases, but stars such as Eva Longoria and Alicia Vikander definitely made up for these fashion calamity's with their stunning and very flattering gowns. In this post I have included my five favourite dresses from the night; see if you agree with me!

As for the look of the night which topped my list by far, Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl star) stole the show with this luscious Louis Vuitton gleaming gown. Regardless of the strength that the sequins
brought to the dress, the abstract rectangular pattern made up of black, gold, bronze and white gave the dress that statement artsy look and prevented the sequins from looking too over the top on this bodycon floor length number. Vikander did not only win the award for the Best Supporting Actress but she also won the award for Best Dressed of the night according to other fashion observers who also watched the star strut down the red carpet in her flawless geometric gown.

However, this was not the first time Vikander had worn one of Vuitton's gorgeous dresses, as the star also wore the brand's white ruffled pinafore-inspired dress to the recent Golden Globes awards in January of this year. Although this dress and her styling for the Golden Globes instantly communicated a vision of youthful beauty, Vikander definitely turned heads with her juxtaposing style for the SAG's by taking on a more Hollywood glamorous look complimented with Cherry red lips and dazzling jewellery.

Looking at the other dresses of the night, Alicia Vikander's was definitely my favourite, but here are a few more dresses worn by stars who were channelling their true fashionista selves and causing a traffic full of paparazzi during the early stages of the night.

Eva Longoria was definitely very daring with this mesh detailed and rather revealing olive green gown by Julien MacDonald. However, as expected she still managed to pull the slinky garment off extremely well, showing off her insane physique as well as adding to the array of glitter that adorned the night.

Emilia Clarke swapped her usual Khaleesi intricate silk attires from Game of Thrones for a shocking pink haute couture gown with a sharp plunge by Dior on Saturday night at the Shrine Auditorium. The dress, complimented with the brand's blue and green jewels for the ultimate dash of Dior was not what we expected from Clarke. However, this bright coloured garment allowed Clarke to continue to embody that image of a fictional princess (even if it did kind of resemble a modern day twist on Aurora's gown from Sleeping Beauty) that she has been known to do throughout her popular role as Daenerys Targaryen.

Emilia Clarke wasn't the only one bringing a little bit of colour to the carpet at the weekend as Anna Faris also stepped out wearing a bold gown on Saturday night. However, unlike Clarke, Faris opted for a radiant red dress with an obvious slit down the leg. Even though there was a thigh bearing slit in the skirt of the dress, the gown was still ever so classy and tasteful, stealing the hearts of those watching from behind the cameras. This colour is so gorgeous and does Anna so much justice against her soft porcelain complexion.

Last of my celebrity looks of the night but certainly not least, was Guiliana Rancic, who brought that spring awakening touch to the SAG's with her subtle botanical tea length gown by New Delhi-based design house, 'Gauri and Nainika'. The dress was covered in flower shaped ruffles and accompanied by soft green petals to add a burst of colour to the minimalistic black gown. Furthermore, the silhouette of this A-Line garment really complimented Rancic's athletic tall figure whilst also communicating a vision of fifties allure to personify a true image of Grace Kelly inspired elegance.

I cannot wait to see what the Oscar's have to offer on the 28th February! (I will be blogging about this event also!)
